[2023] PUBG Mobile Point Table – Points Distribution System

PUBG Mobile Esports has announced to implement new and improved PUBG Mobile Point Table in all official tournaments in 2023. The new point system will reward only 10 points to the winning team.

The point system has dropped by 20 points since late 2019 when the first position teams were awarded 30 position points. Earlier in 2020, the officials had made changes to their existing 30-point system and introduced the new 15-point system. In 2023, they have further revised their points system to 10 points which will decrease the number of teams relying on position points during short tournaments.

During the LAN event of PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2022, the director of PUBG Mobile Esports, James Yang said, “We are also making the changes to the rules to improve more player experience. We will be 10 point system across all tournaments to make the games more exciting and competitive.”

The new point system is as follows:

PositionPoints
110
26
35
44
53
62
7-81
9-160

According to the new point distribution table, the team that receives the Winner Winner Chicken Dinner will get only ten position points whereas the second team receives six placement points. Likewise, the third, fourth, and fifth teams receive five, four, and three position points. Team that finishes sixth receives two placement points while the seventh and the eighth teams receive an one point each. All teams finishing below the eighth position will receive zero placement points.

For each finish, a team receives an additional one point.

Why PUBG Mobile Point System evolves?

During the beginning of PUBG Mobile Esports Journey, 20 teams played one competitive match, but as the days have progressed, only 16 teams compete in one single match in an official PUBG Mobile tournament. Therefore, it had been really necessary to balance the points table to maintain fairness in the games.

Difference in point accumulated by first and second teams

The difference between the 1st and 2nd place teams has also been reduced and has resulted in tougher competitions. Previously, teams would get 20 points on Chicken Dinner and 14 points on securing 2nd position in a match.

In 2020, the difference was reduced by three points when the first team received 15 points and the second received 12 points.

At present, teams that finish on the second position will receive only six points and the team that wins the match will receive only ten points. The difference has been increased by one point.

In late 2019, if any team got three chicken dinners consecutively, they would be getting 60 placement points and could maintain the lead easily even with a little effort in position points. However, with this points system, they would be getting just 30 points.

Also in late 2019, teams that would lose three of their players in the early stages, got way too many points when the remaining player hid himself in a shack or bushes that didn’t determine their skills. This didn’t make the team a healthy contender to be participating in the eSports scene. Rather, this stole opprotunities from deserving teams.

So, finishing off in the first or second positions won’t matter much if you aren’t able to score good amount of kills in the game.

This new points table will greatly impact every tournament positively. Hopefully, PUBG MOBILE guarantees such rules.

This new points table will ask the players to eliminate the whole squad at once because they would be getting zero points if their team got eliminated at position nine or below.

Advantages of New PUBG Mobile Point Table

As stated earlier, the new points system has brought many changes into the tactics adopted by the players. Following are the point-wise advantages of this newly adopted points system

  • Even points distribution: The last position team gets 0 points so, if a team who secured chicken dinner in previous match gets eliminated first in the next match, it opens wide scope for other teams to climb up in the table.

Just after the end of PMWL 2020 – Season Zero, on August 10, 2020, PUBG Mobile Esports announced their new standards of points distribution in tournaments. And, this new PUBG Mobile points table is fully kill point based which will force teams to show aggression rather than survival.

Here is the points distribution rules:

PositionPoints

According to the table, the team that secures the Chicken dinner will receive 15 points. Team finishing second and third will receive 12 and 10 points, respectively. Similarly, teams securing fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh positions will be rewarded 8, 6, and 4 points, respectively. In the same manner, teams securing positions 8 to 12 will receive 1 points each. However, teams who get eliminated at position 13, 14, 15 or 16 would receive 0 placement points.

The points rewarded for each kill has not changed and for every kill, a team will get 1 point.

PUBG Mobile Point Table: Late 2019 Vs 2022

There had been many instances in PUBG Mobile eSports where worthy teams, who were aggressive with their gameplay – got many kills – but unfortunately got killed at 5th or 6th position, would be easily defeated by other teams, who used to hide in shacks or bushes – play prone-in games all the time – and secure 2nd or 3rd position.

The points were heavily dependent upon survival points thus, decreasing the intensity of the matches. Many teams loved to hide from their enemies, avoid fights and overall ruin the spectators expectations.

The first position team would get 20 points then, the fall would be greater. Second positioned team would receive 15 points, third 12 and so on.

This uneven drop in points system made it almost impossible for teams to make a massive comeback in the tournament because the teams with greater points, would play safer matches, all the time.

However, with this change, the playing pattern has also drastically changed. Teams are focusing on kill points over survival points hence, those who can secure maximum kills have a great chance to make a tremendous comeback even during the last day of the tournament.
